BEYOND THE CANVAS

Pranav Kaushal’s installation practice extends his interest in the human figure, identity, environment and material beyond the traditional boundaries of the canvas.

Objects, surfaces, colour, found materials and constructed elements become part of an expanded visual language in which the viewer encounters the work through space rather than from a single fixed viewpoint.

Installation allows Kaushal to explore relationships between the individual, the surrounding environment and the materials that occupy it.

The work is created not simply to be viewed, but to be experienced through scale, material, spatial relationships and the physical presence of the viewer.
